  • That Pumpkin Spice Life

Aw, the smell of fall is in the air! Okay maybe not yet, but I am waiting for it. With our days still in the highs of 90-95 degrees I can only dream of the crisp fall nights, the leaves changing colors, and yes, Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I can not lie, like many, fall is my absolute favorite season, and why shouldn't it be? We are on the cusp of holiday season, school is starting, it feels like new beginnings. I know that is technically January but for me it always feels like fall is really the beginning of change. ...

  • Three Years of Bliss

Hello All,    My name is Brittany, I am the owner of The Shoe Attic. I have not wrote a blog post or shared with you all in a while so I am taking this opportunity to do so. This past November my little shop celebrated its three year anniversary! As I look back at the past three years and how much the shop has changed, I am still astonished at how the morals of what I wanted my shop to be have not.   I opened The Shoe Attic with the intention of this little boutique being a safe...

  • Christmas in November

Everyone knows as soon as October 31st is over, the very next day stores start plugging in the Christmas music and the decorations start coming out. I know why stores do it, it is because Christmas is the biggest shopping season of the year! They have to start pushing sales early and get everyone in the Christmas spirit to make sure they start doing their Christmas shopping. However, since I have worked in retail for a long time, it drives me crazy how soon stores start preparing for Christmas. By the time December comes around, it feels like the magic...

  • Growing up Williamsburg

Everyone always asked me, what there is to do in Williamsburg? Being a local, people always thought that I was bored and never had anything to do growing up, especially in my teenage years. Well to be honest, sometimes it was hard to find things to do, because on one hand it is a college town, due to hosting one of the oldest college’s in history, and on the other hand, it is Colonial Williamsburg, where everyone comes to explore how Williamsburg came to be. In a nutshell, I definitely come from a tourist town, and even though it may...

There is always one down side to the holiday season coming and that is the diet goes out the window! I just can’t help myself, especially because family...

  • Sweater Weather

So I don’t know about you guys, but I am so excited that fall is almosthere! The boots are coming back, as well as the adorable boot socks that go with them. Don’t forget the great scarves and hats to join the boots too. I honestly can say that fall is one of the best seasons, because it is not too cold, but it is just cold enough where you can dress up an outfit with scarves, hats, and even some really stylist jackets. Fall is also a time when Williamsburg is really beautiful, especially in the colonial area. The...
