  • Spring Break 2014.

Imagine this, its 85 degrees out with no humidity, the sand is beneath your toes, you have a drink in your hand, and all you can hear is the continuous crash of the waves upon the pink sand beach and your friends chattering about what they’re going to wear to dinner tonight and with what shoes and accessories.. Welcome to Harbour Island, Bahamas. For Spring Break this year, I had the grand idea that my two best friends and I should spend it in Harbour Island, Bahamas, so we made it happen. On March 2nd, I will board a plane and travel about three hours until I land on paradise. Now, all of this sounds a lot easier said than done, I will tell you that much. It is almost the Monday before the trip which means I will start to mentally organize my must-haves. Knowing me, this mental list will continue and continue until I actually get to organizing and writing it down. * Never underestimate the power of a packing list. * I decided that instead of keeping this list to myself, I would much rather share it with all of you.

    Vacation Must Haves!

    1. Sunscreen. This is always a must. Not only for yourself now but also for down the road. Protect yourself and your skin by always wearing a great sunscreen. I have fallen in love with SurferGirl Skincare.
    2. Sunglasses. My personal favorite has been the Alexa by Quay. I love how the frame is so modern and it will help make my tan stand out.

    Clothing:

    1. The Gilda dress by Dolce Vita just came in and I absolutely fell in love. I love the way this dress flows and has slits up the side so the wind catches it. I can imagine myself wearing this dress as I’m strolling down the beach after a fantastic seafood dinner.
    2. The Kelly Kapowskil dress by Minkpink is just so adorable. I love this jean skater dress because its short and fun but also the back cutout is so unique. I cant wait to wear this dress to lunch or walking around the island looking for great places to take photos.
    3. The Secret Garden Skirt by Minkpink is a def must have for my trip. The colors are so tropical and girly. This skirt would be perfect to wear as a quick outfit to the beach with the Mother of Pearl top.
    4. The Minkpink SUAM is the absolute perfect vacation skirt. This skirt is a maxi and the deep blue makes me imagine the perfect vacation.
    5. The Pansy blazer by Minkpink is the perfect throw over a dress incase it gets a little chilly at night blazer. I can see myself pairing this blazer with The Black Dress also by Minkpink.

    Shoes:

    1. The Bone to be Wild by Y.R.U. is one of my new favorite shoes. I love this shoe so much and its so edgy. This shoe goes with just about anything. I cant wait to pair it with the Secret Garden Skirt or even the Gilda dress. It would look great with either.
    2. The Jealousea Black shoes by Y.R.U. will be my beach shoes. I have done away with sandals for this trip and I am going to stick to the Jealousea because this jelly shoe is perfect for the beach and for the water. If you're going to the beach you may as well do it in style, right?
    3. Although I generally stick to the more edgy black shoes, I have fallen head over heels in love with the Close your Eye by Seychelle’s. This shoe is so adorable and so vintage. Its so girly and I can see myself wearing this with the New Dolce Vita Rosabella dress. This dress is the ultimate sweetheart dress and is so beautiful.
    4. The Callin my Bluff by Seychelle’s also just came in and once again, I would have typically not fallen for this shoe because it is not my style but I have fallen in love. I love this shoe so much and its so comfortable. I love the wooden colored heel and how the shoe is an open toed shoe so I can also show off my vacation pedicure. I can see myself wearing this dress with the new Minkpink Freedom skirt. I love this skirt because its so tribal and it reminds me of a safari.
    5. Last but definitely not least, I will be packing the Annette by Jeffrey Campbell. This shoe is just so ‘vacation to the Bahamas’. The basket weave is so adorable and it is so comfortable. I love how the heel is only two inches so it gives me a bit more height but its not too much if I’m going to be walking around a lot. I can see myself pairing this shoe with the Rosabella dress also. It would give the dress a island feel.
